Welcome to another edition of our monthly newsletter. In this newsletter we have:

Conference and AGM 2012

2012 CONFERENCE and AGM 11, 12, 13 of May 2012 Sponsored by Surgico


Friday 11th, Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th May 2011

This is a reminder to get your registrations in for the 2012 Conference and AGM that will be held in Wellington at the CQ Conference Centre and Hotels on the 12th and 13th of May. Registrations can be made online here, or a registration form can be downloaded here.

The Conference this year will focus on Diabetes and we have a range of great speakers lined up. You can download the draft programme here.

As with previous years a game of golf has been scheduled for those interested on the Friday at 1pm tee off. You can register for this at the same time you register for the Conference and AGM by ticking the appropriate box on the registration form.

Accommodation is available at the venue and you can contact CQ Hotels directly.

AGM Reading Material

As mentioned this year there is a lot to get through at the AGM. The executive have been flat out all year looking at the suggestions from last year to change the structure of the assocation, membership levels and a lot more. It is important that you read all of the material in preparation for the discussion at the AGM and more importantly in preparation for the voting you will need to do.

All reading material is available online. When you log into the members only section of the website you will see an option for AGM 2012 Reading Material. All material has been put into the relevant sections:

Association Structure This includes all reading material on the proposed change to the Assocation's structure. The suggestion covered is to change the structure from the volunteer executive board with administration support structure to an appointed skills based board with a GM/CEO. The reading material includes:

• A SWOT which looks at the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats for both the existing structure and the suggested new structure.

• Business Case which looks in more detail as the suggestions and potential implications. New Membership Levels and Information This looks at suggested new levels of membership so that the association can be more inclusive and cover the various kinds of members and potential members we are starting to receive applications for.

Training Days This section looks at the Training Days and covers developments in how these are selected and arranged and the plans for development, the introduction of a Training Day Sub Committee and also the introduction of a critique form for members to fill out once they have attended a training day.

AGM Forms and Information This section has the 2011 AGM minutes, and the forms for Nominations for Executive Positions, and Proxy forms.

Please note that all Nominations for Executive Positions need to be the secretary/admin team by the 12th of April. All members will be informed of those that have been nominated before the AGM.

Deadlines for Accreditation 31st March

A reminder to all members working toward their accreditation for the 2012 - 2013 year. Your

case studies must be in by 11:59pm on the 31st of March 2012. Which is later this week!

You must also pay your 2012 - 2013 membership fees by the 31st of March 2012. They must either have been deposited into the account by that day and show up in our bank statement, or the cheque must be posted AND received by the admin team by the 31st of March. If you do not pay your fees on time you will not be accredited.

Training Days - all opportunities for attending training days have now closed. So if you have not attended any of the eligible training days/meetings listed below then you will need to submit 3 addtional case studies by the 31st of March 2012.

Eligible Training days for the 2011 - 2012 year include: - the 2011 AGM - the Australian Training Day on the 11th of November 2011 - The New Zealand online training session on the 17th of March 2012

If you have any questions, are having difficulty accessing the AGM pre-reading material, are not sure about whether you will meet your accreditation requirements or anything else (except things like the meaning of life, the square root of pi, or why Justin Bieber sells more records than the Beatles and Rolling Stones combined) please contact your admin team.
